Today the girls have sung and danced with Yo Gabba Gabba. Played in their new home in the nook under the stairs. Watched this video about dancing like you have ants in your pants over and over and over again

I think we need to purchase more kids song CD’s.

They were mommy to their baby’s. They even made them baby food in their kitchen.

Ava has a cold, and we’ve had to give her breathing treatments since yesterday, but that hasn’t slowed her down in her play….well maybe a little.
She climbed into my lap earlier and took a nap.

Nakiah played at girls go games for a bit. Her favorites are the ones where she can dress up the different dolls, or change their hair and makeup.

They sat on the couch together taking turns reading books to each other.

And we also iced more leftover cupcakes, and added sprinkles.

We made cupcakes. Pink cupcakes with vanilla icing to be exact.

Two cupcakes came out looking like hearts. How sweet!

She did this for a good ten minutes. It was so cute. She loves the new show Team Umizoomi
She plays the game and listens to the music on Nick Jr. several times a week.

It was such a cute moment. I wish we had a video camera. I love pictures, but sometimes you just want to capture that moment on video.

The snow melted away earlier this week, and the girls keep asking when more will come. I wish I knew.

Today they have played computer games, colored, watched TV. We found their favorite kids song CD. We put that on and they sang and danced to that. It went through twice. I don’t think they will ever get tired of that CD.
We played it on our move down here last year, and they fell in love with it instantly.

There was dollhouse play, and of course dress up. Today they put their dress up clothes on first, and then their regular clothes on top of them. It’s usually only dress up clothes.

I can’t forget the new magnifying glasses we picked up this week. Those have been a big hit! They explored everything around the house that afternoon. Faces, books, the floor, food inside the fridge. We’re going to take them out with us on our next walk. Right now the backyard is soggy from all of the rain. I’m sure they would love to see mud and raindrops on the grass up close. Maybe we’ll do that tomorrow.

We had a parade with the stuffed animals and dolls. They can’t wait until we can go to another parade. I can’t wait until festival season starts this year.

We cuddled together on the couch, they rubbed my belly, and talked to the baby. Nakiah thinks since my stomach is bigger the baby should be here now. I have to really watch what i say to her, because she remembers everything. When it doesn’t happen the way I said it would, then I have to explain myself.

Hopefully this weekend, we can pick up more paint, and other arts/craft supplies.
I’ve been asked to make a necklace. We’ll see what kind of beads we can find.

It’s not even 4pm yet. Daddy will be home soon, and then we can make nachos for dinner.

Life at Home.

Unschooling in our home with a 5yr old, and a 2.5yr old.
There is always LOTS of free play. We play with blocks, baby dolls, doll houses, the Ariel mermaid salon set. There is painting, and drawing.

There is also lots of TV, and computer play. There was a time when I let someone else convince me that TV was not good for my children. Hogwash! They learn from EVERYTHING! They have picked up Spanish from Dora, and Diego.
Often throughout the day you can hear them counting in Spanish, and speaking what they have picked up.

My kids are free to grab a book at anytime of the day.

The girls love to help me cook/bake. They are my little kitchen helpers.

Making play doh is a favorite around here. Somehow ours always end up pink.

One day we cut up a pineapple, and broke open a coconut.

We are free to sing and dance when we want, as long as we want.

We don’t have a sandbox at the moment, but we do have rice, flour, dry beans, and cornmeal. The girls love to make their footprints with the flour and cornmeal. They use cups, spoons, bowls, pots and pans to pour and play with.

Lego’s. These are from my childhood.

No one telling us when to eat, how much of what we can eat or drink. Recess is always in session, and the best part, we learn in everything we do.
I love being able to watch my kids grow and learn in everything they do.
Here at home they are free to explore, and learn at their own pace.
